Pokřikov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A traditional Masopust carnival takes place in Pokřikov. This festival includes a procession to individual houses with dancing and music. Traditional masks appear, including a Laufr, a chimney sweep, Turks, and a bride and groom.

Culture and History

Historical traces can also be seen in the appearance of the village. In the lower part of Pokřikov, a cross with Christ was erected in 1848 by Catholic believers to commemorate the abolition of the corvée. In the upper part of the village, a memorial to those who fell in the First and Second World Wars was unveiled on 23 September 1945.

Several original timber-framed and masonry buildings have been preserved in Pokřikov. House No. 52 is dated to 1666 and is considered the oldest house.

Landscape

The Dolský potok flows through Pokřikov and empties into the Žejbro stream. Fields stretch across the area around Pokřikov, while a forest lies northeast of the village. The Drážní rybník pond was created along the course of the Dolský potok.
