Telecí: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

An exceptionally well-preserved example of the “Polička” type of enclosed three- or four-sided courtyard can be found in Telecí: Homestead No. 16 is built almost entirely of wood.

Culture and history

The southern part of Telecí has been a village conservation area since 2005. Numerous wooden houses and farm buildings have been preserved there, forming enclosed three- or four-sided “Polička” courtyards. The historic buildings also include two rare polygonal wooden barns at house numbers 10 and 89.

A free-standing bell tower, probably dating from the 16th century, stands beside the Catholic Gothic Church of St Mary Magdalene. The Evangelical Tolerance Church in Telecí was built in 1783. A monument at the vicarage near the Evangelical Tolerance Church commemorates the fact that a well-known resistance organisation met there during the Second World War.

A display about the legends and stories associated with the Lukasova Lime Tree has been set up in the historic cellar of the neighbouring house No. 102.

Landscape and nature

Telecí is part of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area and lies in the elongated valley of the Telecký potok stream.

The Lukasova Lime Tree, also known as the Singing Lime Tree, in Telecí was voted Tree of the Year 2021 and is estimated to be 600 to 700 years old.

Hiking

The yellow-marked Teréza Nováková Trail leads from Telecí via Lucký vrch to Borová u Poličky.
