The complex of the former textile factory in Brněnec is, in its present extent, the largest historical industrial complex in the Svitavy region. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 3 November 2016.

Culture and History

The Protestant church in Brněnec is also protected: since 18 January 2016, it has been protected as a cultural monument. The small, single-nave, towerless and non-oriented building has preserved original coloured glass windows in metal frames with vertical grilles.

The factory site in Brněnec was connected to a subcamp of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp, where arms production continued. Through the transport, Oskar Schindler saved approximately 1,100 to 1,200 people from death in extermination camps.
