Pustá Rybná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pustá Rybná features a landscape with distinctive rock formations, protected wet meadows and places steeped in tradition. Particularly characteristic are the Rybenské Perničky: they consist of two separate rock blocks of the frost cliff type, with wall heights of 16 and 8 metres. There are also three rock basins among the rocks; the largest is up to 60 centimetres wide and 20 centimetres deep.

Nature and Landscape

The Damašek Nature Reserve lies on the northwestern edge of the municipality. It is located in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area, specifically in Protection Zone I. The floodplain of the meandering Hlučál stream contains semi-natural wet peat meadows. Protected and endangered plant and animal species occur there; the nature reserve is also home to numerous rare and endangered vascular plants.

The mountains of Devět Skal, Jarošov, Žákova hora and Librův Kopec lie in the vicinity of Pustá Rybná. Another distinctive place is the Lesní bar Na Šupalce self-service station on the cadastral boundary between Pustá Rybná and Březiny. It lies directly on the red-marked hiking route to the Rybenské Perničky. As an alcohol-free self-service station, it offers refreshments to hikers and cyclists.

Cultural and Ecclesiastical History

The restored polygonal Osmiboká roubená stodola houses a permanent exhibition of old agricultural machinery and historic tools. According to local tradition, it was the first meeting place of tolerated church members.

The branch church is dedicated to the Apostle Bartholomew. As of 4 August 2015, a pilgrimage Mass and a Mass on All Souls' Day were listed as being held twice a year at the branch church of the Apostle Bartholomew.
