Kunčina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kunčina combines an impressive sacred history with marked trails through a landscape shaped by forests and geological features.

Culture

St. George’s Church in Kunčina is a single-nave building with a Renaissance barrel vault, a wooden gallery and a Late Gothic portal in the tower. The interior also contains a Late Renaissance relief of Saint George dating from the end of the 16th century. A Way of the Cross in the Rococo style completes the furnishings.

In Nová Ves, the Church of Saint Roch dates from 1857; in front of it stands a stone Calvary group from 1862. The church’s main altar contains an early Baroque painting of Saint Roch and Saint Sebastian from the second half of the 17th century.

In front of St. George’s Church, a Baroque group of sculptures commemorates the plague epidemic of 1715 and other disasters that affected Kunčina and Nová Ves. It consists of twelve statues of saints on a terrace enclosed by a balustrade, as well as four further statues of saints on columns. Registered as immovable cultural monuments are the balustrade with the Baroque statues in front of St. George’s Church in Kunčina, as well as the Calvary group beside this Baroque balustrade in front of St. George’s Church in Kunčina.
