Líšnice is situated on the Divoká Orlice River in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains. The village is known for its seven bridges and numerous footbridges.
Culture and History
The history of Líšnice includes the Church of the Holy Family, a pseudo-Romanesque church built between 1865 and 1868. It replaced a chapel that had been built in 1788. A statue of the Holy Trinity dating from 1889 also stands by a bridge in Líšnice.
After a fire in 1935, the Sokolovna was built within 18 months. Following its ceremonial reopening on 25 October 1936, the Sokolovna was used for cultural and sporting activities for the entire municipality. It offers overnight accommodation.
Cycling and Village Life
A cycling route to the Pastviny Reservoir runs around the historic brick fire station in Líšnice. The building was ceremonially opened on 13 July 1913 and bears the inscription “To our honour, for the protection of our neighbours”. Every year on 5 July, the Líšnice Volunteer Fire Brigade organises the competition “For the Travelling Cup of the Mayor of the Municipality of Líšnice” in the unusual firefighting attack event.
The light-blue “Žamberská” cycling route starts at the sports complex in Líšnice, where an information board is located. It is classified as moderately difficult. The stated guide time for this cycling route, without stops, is two hours.
