Horní Hermanice V Cechách: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Horní Heřmanice is located on the Bohemian-Moravian border, below the easternmost foothills of the Orlické Mountains. Well-maintained wooden houses in the village illustrate the local folk architecture. The bus stop “Horní Heřmanice,,u fary” is also included in the regional public transport stop list of IDS IREDO.

Landscape and trails

The ridge hiking trail through the Bukovohorské Mountains runs through the upper part of Horní Heřmanice. It offers beautiful views of Bohemia and the Moravian side all year round. In addition, the marked cycle route 4253 passes through Horní Heřmanice.

The green-marked hiking trail connects Horní Heřmanice southwards with the summit of Lázek at an altitude of 714 metres and leads northwards to the summit of Buková hora at an altitude of 958 metres.

Culture and history

The Church of St. George is a High Baroque church built between 1708 and 1712. The entire church complex, including the cemetery gate and chapel, is listed as a cultural monument. The rural sacred complex also includes the Baroque brick ossuary dating from around 1700; the Late Baroque crucifix in the sacred grounds dates from 1788.

Near the church and the rectory stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1767. The Výměnek is a preserved remnant of a former rural farmstead from the 19th century and evidence of traditional folk architecture in the Ústí nad Orlicí area.

In the Lanškroun area, the Dolní, Havlenův mill is a valuable example of folk architecture. It was built in 1748 by Ferdinand Dittrich as an old wooden water mill.
