Vyprachtice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Výprachtice lies at elevations between 510 and 875 metres. The hilly landscape has some steep ascents, and several hiking trails run through it. The Moravská Sázava rises at the foot of Buková hora and continues from Výprachtice towards Moravia.

Nature and Surroundings

The Naučná stezka Údolí Moravské Sázavy educational trail leads through a wooded section of the Moravská Sázava valley between Albrechtice and Výprachtice. The mountain Buková hora is located nearby; the mountains Suchý vrch, Lazek and Obora are also in the surrounding area. The Nový Hrad complex is considered a ruin and lies in the wider regional surroundings of Výprachtice.

Winter Destinations

The Ski areál Ovaz Merta ski area is a small ski centre in the upper part of Výprachtice below the mountain Na Hoblovně. The Buková hora–Suchý vrch cross-country skiing area has an access point at the saddle between Výprachtice and Čenkovice.

History and Townscape

Výprachtice was first mentioned in writing in 1304 in a deed of gift from King Wenceslaus II to Zbraslav Monastery. The Column of the Holy Trinity dates from 1863. In the centre of the village, below a slope at a road junction, stands the Výprachtice war memorial. It commemorates the local people who fell in both world wars.

The rural Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Výprachtice is an Empire-style ecclesiastical building dating from 1815 to 1817, built on the site of an older structure. A tower dating from the 15th to 16th century survived from the earlier building. The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord is a significant landmark of Výprachtice and the surrounding landscape. In the Middle Ages, a fortress stood at Na zámku, at the entrance to the Sázava valley at the end of Výprachtice; this was established through archaeological investigations.

A pseudo-Gothic cast-iron cross in Výprachtice combines industrially manufactured cast-iron production with stonemasonry. It stands on a stone pedestal with reliefs of Saint Anthony of Padua and the Instruments of the Passion of Christ.
