Hnátnice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hnátnice is a large settlement spread along a strip of woodland on both banks of the Hnátnický stream, located in the Žamberk Highlands. Skalka, at 447 m, is the highest point in Hnátnice.

Nature

The mountains of Řetová and Velká Suchá are located in the surroundings of Hnátnice. The wider regional area also includes Vysoký Kámen and Zámecká hora.

Culture and History

The Church of St Peter and Paul in Hnátnice was originally built in the Gothic style in the second half of the 14th century. It was rebuilt in the mid-19th century, when the tower was also added. Next to the church stands a statue of St John of Nepomuk from 1732, as well as a Calvary group from 1835. On the staircase leading to the church are statues of St Peter and St Paul from the 19th century.

A group of statues depicting the Holy Trinity from the early 19th century was restored in 1885. Another special feature is the Rosary Way in Hnátnice: it was created in the 19th century and comprises fifteen stations corresponding to the mysteries of the three Rosaries. The way is considered the only pilgrimage route in the Czech Republic to include all the mysteries of the Rosary known at the time of its creation.

Routes

The Valdštejn–Šušek cycle path connects Písečná and Hnátnice. The same cycle path also connects the pond shore in Šušek with a local road in Hnátnice-Valdštejn.
