Choteč: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Choteč combines small, characterful structures with a cycle route running through the village and a location on the Ředický potok. Crosses, a wooden bell tower, historical traces and the Choteč Bašta give the village several distinct features.

Culture and history

A marble cross on a sandstone base was remodeled in the Gothic style in 1856. Near the municipal office, the Jesus Christ Cross belongs to the courtyard of the Řehounkových family and was restored at the family's expense in 2005.

The surrounding area also reaches far back into the past: prehistoric graves found around Choteč indicate settlement in prehistoric times. The local architectural character also includes the wooden bell tower of Choteč, which is covered with shingles. A sandstone cross dating from 1849 stands next to it.

Cycle routes and events

KČT cycle route 4191 runs through Choteč. Marked local cycle routes intersect in the eastern part of the village. During the summer months, sports events and some social events take place at the Choteč Bašta. The shelter at the Choteč Bašta provides seating and can offer participants simple refreshments.

Location and structures

Choteč lies on the left bank of the Ředický potok. West of Choteč, on the road towards Sezemice–Býšť, stands road bridge No. 298/005. It is a small single-arch structure made of rubble stone, with an arch built from sandstone blocks.
