Bylany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the municipal area of Bylany, south of the Bylanka stream, an extensive Neolithic settlement was discovered in the 1950s. It comprises several phases, floor plans of longhouses, and thousands of settlement features.

Culture and History

A Neolithic rondel was also discovered and investigated on the northwestern edge of Bylany. The circular enclosure consists of two concentric ditches with diameters of 90 and 110 metres respectively, and four entrances.

The wayside shrine in Bylany was professionally restored in 2006; in 2009, a small bell tower was erected behind it. At an intersection next to a general store stands a monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. Its inscription names victims of the World War from 1914 to 1918, as well as victims of National Socialism from 1939 to 1945.

Bylany is also home to a late Baroque wayside shrine erected in 1800. An inscription on it is probably connected with the war against revolutionary France at that time.

In the wider regional area around Bylany are Svatý Jiří, considered a church, and Kačina Chateau, considered a castle.

Nature and Landscape

The unregulated Bylanka stream is lined with tall vegetation.

In the vicinity of Bylany is Heřmanův Městec with Palác, a landscape feature classified as a hill. In the regional area are Bučina and Krkanka, both landscape features classified as mountains. Also in the regional area is Jeníkovice u Choltic with Na Hranicích, a landscape feature classified as a hill.

The Bylany, hlavní silnice stop is served by IREDO regional bus route 703.
