Časy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Časy is located on the edge of the Polabian Lowland – a place first mentioned in writing in 1494 and through which a marked local cycling route runs.

Nature and landscape

There are fields and small patches of woodland around Časy.

The Časy geological site is an abandoned open-pit mine with exposures of Cretaceous sediments. It contains dark grey calcareous claystones from the youngest Cretaceous deposits, as well as two layers of calcareous sandstone containing muscovite and plant remains.

The Časy geological site is registered as a site of geological interest. A permit is required to access the Časy geological site by car.

History and local culture

In the 16th century, at least part of Časy belonged to the Cistercian monastery in Sezemice. The bell tower in Časy dates from the mid-18th century. The wayside cross or shrine in the village square in Časy is designated as a cultural asset.

A number of texts of Christmas carols typical of the municipality, recorded up to 1900, originate from Časy. The former brickworks in Časy was at times the most modern brickworks in the surrounding area. A hunt began near Časy.
