Police: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Police presents its history at specific sites. The town’s historic landmark is the Church of St. Nicholas, a branch church with a Gothic core and later Baroque alterations. The church preserves a bell cast in 1497 in honour of St. Nicholas and a Gothic sandstone baptismal font.

Culture

The Síň selských tradic exhibition traces the history of Police from the earliest archaeological finds to the present day. As a village exhibition in Police, it includes exhibits on the folk history of the municipality and its surroundings. One of the special exhibits is a priestly leather vestment embroidered with gold, which was found during the restoration of the local Church of St. Nicholas.

Other historical testimonies include the listed Empire-style Pietà group in Police, dating from 1843. Preisův mlýn is also a defining feature: the preserved and fully operational mill is one of the most distinctive landmarks of Police. A tour of its technical equipment can be arranged directly with the owner.

Cycle route 6026 leads from Dubicko over the hill of Police and down towards the local pond. On the road from Police to Úsov, near the Chapel of the Holy Trinity and a pond, stands a noteworthy lime tree known as “Urbáškova lípa”.
