Jesenec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Jesenec combines castle history, a rare oval church design and a pilgrimage tradition. The village lies on the southern slope of Zámecká Horka on the road between Konice and Moravská Třebová.

Culture and History

Jesenec Castle was built in 1711 on the site of a former fortress and continues to serve as a retirement home. A small Lourdes grotto depicting the Virgin Mary is located in the park above the castle.

The Church of St. Libor in Jesenec was built between 1711 and 1714. This rare architectural monument has an oval floor plan; this design originated in Vienna. The main entrance to the Church of St. Libor is used year-round.

Jesenec is a pilgrimage site visited every year by pilgrims from far away. The pilgrimage in honor of Saint Libor takes place on the Sunday closest to the feast day of Saint Libor on July 23.

Landscape and Trails

The educational trail in Kladecko Nature Park ends in Jesenec. The Jesenka stream rises on the boundary between Jesenec and Dzbel and is called the Romže farther downstream.

The elevations known as mountains, “Skalky,” “Skály” and “Husák,” are located in the vicinity of Jesenec. In the wider regional area, there is also the elevation known as the mountain “Horka.”
