Hynčina combines signposted trails with an unusually detailed Baroque villagescape. Between hiking routes, the valley of the Ospirský potok and several historic religious monuments, it creates a multifaceted impression of the landscape and local history.
Trails and Landscape
A green-marked hiking trail runs through Hynčina from Mohelnice via Hynčina to Hoštejn. A yellow-marked hiking trail connects the blue and green trails and forms a small circular route within the municipality of Hynčina. Cycling also has a clear local connection: cycle routes 521, 4063, 6234 and 6232 touch the outer edge of Hynčina’s administrative area.
The valley of the Ospirský potok forms the western boundary of the municipality of Hynčina. The stream rises in the Dlouhá Ves area and flows into the Moravská Sázava near Popelák.
Culture and Villagescape
The Church of St. Stanislav in Hynčina is a Baroque building constructed in 1725 to replace an earlier wooden church. It has been listed as a cultural monument since 1958 and is not open to the public. Its interior is decorated with stucco ornamentation and paintings depicting biblical scenes. A comparatively simple older core of the building is combined with a stylistically cohesive, colourful Neo-Baroque interior.
The Hynčina Immaculata statue stands beside a road on a wooded slope. The late Baroque statue bears traces of polychromy; its pedestal features a relief of Saint Valentine, while the year 1776 is inscribed on the back.
The Baroque Hynčina wayside shrine is approximately three metres high and made of sandstone. It has a cylindrical shaft with a Tuscan capital, a four-sided chapel with a pyramidal roof and an iron cross. At the edge of Hynčina, it stands beside the road towards Křižanov and has survived more than 300 years with comparatively little damage. The chapel features a relief of the crucified Christ, while depictions of the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist are carved into its sides.
The local tradition also includes the Trinity group, originally made of stone. It was erected in 1900 on the initiative of the owners of the nearby mill, Rosalie and Johann Wolf. Today, only the pedestal remains, while the group of figures is considered lost.
