Hradčany is first mentioned in a document issued by King Vladislaus I in 1160. The present appearance of the mill in Hradčany is shaped by its reconstruction after a devastating fire in 1922.
Culture and history
Hradčany is home to the Chapel of Saint Francis Xavier. The Hradisko Monastery near Olomouc owned Hradčany until the dissolution of the monastery in 1784.
Antonín Špaček was born in Hradčany on 23 May 1917. A commemorative plaque is located on the birthplace of Major General Antonín Špaček at Hradčany No. 87.

Cycle route No. 5040 runs through Hradčany-Kobeřice along Road III/4335. A 66 km cycling tour leads through Hradčany-Kobeřice between Dobromilice and Brodek u Prostějova.
Between Hradčany and Kobeřice lies a flooded quarry near the paved road. It is used as a natural swimming area and serves as a fishing ground for the local organisation of the fisheries association in Němčice nad Hanou.
