Bludov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Bludov combines a Neoclassical pilgrimage complex, notable evidence of the town’s history, wooded landscapes, and special attractions such as a regional children’s museum and a natural healing spring.
Culture and History
The Boží Tělo area is a Neoclassical pilgrimage complex comprising the Church of Boží Tělo, the Lourdes Chapel of the Virgin Mary, a wayside shrine, the Stonův Cross, and a Stations of the Cross route. The historical buildings also include the Bludov château orangery, which is one of the oldest surviving orangeries in Northern Moravia and the Czech Republic.
The Church of St George has a ceiling painting from 1895 created using an industrial painting technique considered unique throughout Moravia. The Žerotín crypt is located next to the Church of St George; it contains the remains of Karel the Elder of Žerotín and can be visited by prior arrangement.
The history of Bludov Castle can also be traced at several locations. The castle was probably built around the middle of the 13th century and was conquered and destroyed by Matthias Corvinus in 1471. Its ruins lie on Hradisko Hill near Zámeček. Cultural events take place in the hall of Bludov Château, while the interior of the château can only be visited on a few occasions.
