Trnávka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Trnávka combines historical monuments with designated natural areas and a lively local events scene. Between the church, château, and landscaped park, the specific points of interest range from a church mentioned since the Middle Ages to a revived walking tour and named elevations in the nearer and wider regional surroundings.

Culture and History

Trnávka Baroque Château is an 18th-century château. Its present Late Baroque appearance dates from around 1780. A partially preserved 19th-century landscaped park adjoins the château.

St. Catherine's Church has been mentioned in Trnávka since 1452. It has a pulpit and a baptismal font from the late 17th century. This sequence of historical monuments is complemented by the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk, which stands at the Trnávka–Brušperk road junction. In Trnávka, there is also a sandstone stone reconciliation cross by the road in front of house no. 31.

Nature and Landscape

The Rybníky v Trnávce Nature Reserve was first designated on 15 February 2002. The hills of Za Humny (Petřvald u Nového Jičína) and Sovinec (Fryčovice) lie in the vicinity of Trnávka. The mountains of Skalka and Kamenárka lie in the wider regional surroundings of Trnávka.

Events

The local cultural life is represented by the Divadelní spolek Trnávka theatre company. It stages its performances at the Sokol House in Trnávka, house number 145, which has 250 seats for spectators. The restored rooms of Trnávka Baroque Château are used for social events.

Since 2008, the children's event Pohádkový les has been held in the château's surroundings at the end of summer. Another recurring tradition is the revived Pochod z Trnávky do Trnávky walking tour, which has been organized by the municipality again since 2018.
