Studénka: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In Studénka, the Vagonářské Museum brings together railway history and a functioning model railway. The museum is housed in the chateau building and presents the historical development of rail transport and carriage manufacturing.

Culture and history

The buildings of Starý a nový zámek in Studénka are protected cultural monuments. The park surrounding Starý a nový zámek contains numerous remarkable foreign tree species.

Zámek Nová Horka is a three-winged, two-storey Baroque chateau built in the 1740s on the site of a Renaissance fortress.

Nature and trails

Zámek Nová Horka houses the “Kotvice” exhibition, which focuses on the surrounding nature. Guided tours about the history of the chateau are offered there; restored halls can also be viewed. The chateau is located on the Beskids Cycle Route, and bicycle racks are situated directly at the chateau.

The Školní naučná stezka educational trail is approximately 1.5 kilometres long, accessible year-round, and has 12 stations. At Pasečný most, the Školní naučná stezka connects to the Naučná stezka Kotvice educational trail.

At Kotvice Pond, a birdwatching station is located above the water surface along the Kotvice educational trail. Kotvice features a characteristic mosaic of species-rich ecosystems: these include ponds with nesting islands and shoreline vegetation, alluvial forests, oak-hornbeam forests with a higher proportion of deadwood, as well as flooded meadows with wetlands and pools. Natural and near-natural plant communities, as well as rare and specially protected plant and animal species, occur there.
