In Staré Město, the view of the town begins with a striking landscape feature: in the Profil Morávky area, the Morávka River forms a gorge-like riverbed with rocky ledges, rapids and gravel terraces.

At 342 metres, Hůrky Hill is the highest point above Staré Město. The area around Staré Město is suitable for cycling trips; in the Profil Morávky natural monument zone, walks starting from Staré Město are a good option.

The road connection from Frýdek-Místek then continues via Road II/477 towards Baška. Travel by train is to Frýdek-Místek railway station; from there, continue on foot, by bus or by taxi.

Culture and History

St Joseph's Church was built in a purely Romanesque style from 1902 to 1903 and completed in 1904. It is dedicated to Saint Joseph.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands on the road from Staré Město to Baška. It was built in 1878 by local farmers in thanksgiving for the harvest.

Historic Jamnice was a settlement with a fortification on the trade route from Moravia to Těšínsko.

The Na Skotni Chapel is located on the road from Staré Město to Skalice. It is well maintained but carefully locked; through the fully wooden door, it is hardly possible to see inside.
