Jablunkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Jablunkov opens up several ways to explore its history and present: historic museums meet educational trails through nature and urban woodland, while pilgrimage and folklore provide regular annual highlights.

Culture and History

The Museum of the Tripoint is located in a building with a Renaissance core dating from the 16th century, one of the oldest brick buildings in Silesia. The building bears the traditional name Prince's House and became the property of the Těšín princes from the Piast family in the second half of the 16th century. The permanent exhibition “Landscape and People” is also accessible in the museum.

The World Bible Museum is located in the Old Monastery in Jablunkov. Its collection currently comprises around 5,000 exhibits; the oldest date from the second half of the 16th century, including items from 1540, 1549 and 1556/57. Another historical route is provided by the “Jablunkov History Trail”, which has 17 stops.

Nature and Trails

The “Nature of the Jablunkov Region” educational trail is located in the cadastral area of the town of Jablunkov and is 8 km long. Information panels provide information about the flora, fauna and watercourses of the Jablunkov region.

The Jablunkov urban forest includes a park with stone sculptures, a pump track and a nature trail. This nature trail leads to a water feature. The Jablunkov Sanatorium arboretum is home to 350 species of trees, shrubs and perennials; the sanatorium park contains sculptures by Jan Tříska and Vincent Makovský.

Festivals and Religious Traditions

The Jablunkov parish organises a pilgrimage every year on the Feast of Corpus Christi. The “Jackové dětem” children's folklore festival takes place in June. The “Gorolski Świento” folklore festival is held in Jablunkov on the first weekend of August and is considered the oldest festival in the region.
