The Dělnický dům in Horní Suchá was built in two phases: the original building dates from 1897, while the later courtyard extension was added in 1929. The main hall retains a wooden parquet floor and stage machinery. In its courtyard, the building has an outdoor dance floor made of terrazzo.

You can consider these features separately: the building’s age, the preserved hall details and the courtyard dance floor each place a different emphasis on how you view the site. Arrange these three aspects according to the focus that particularly interests you in historic architecture.

Culture

Věž František is an 85-metre-high reinforced-concrete structure and is classified as a technical monument of regional significance. The Důl František hard-coal mine in Horní Suchá was built from 1911 onwards. In mid-1999, the last coal tub left Důl František before the shaft was closed.

In the vicinity of Horní Suchá lies Kończyce Małe Castle - Zamek XV w. The Catholic Church of St. Joseph in Horní Suchá dates from 1835. The Park hrdinů in Horní Suchá is a memorial site at the location of an execution.

For planning your topics, you can treat historical, technical and religious aspects as separate focal points and place remembrance culture alongside them as an additional perspective.

Sport

The Sportovní a relaxační centrum Na Císařství has six multi-purpose sports courts for badminton, volleyball, nohejbal, floorball and futsal. At the Na Císařství centre, you can reserve the entire sports hall or individual courts. The Sportovní areál František was built in the early 1950s; football has been played there since 1953.

You can compare the sports venues by type of sport and by the extent of the reservable area. The activities mentioned and the different sizes of the reservable areas provide separate points of reference for your planning.

Landscape and Trails

A red-marked hiking trail runs along the eastern edge of Horní Suchá, leading north via the Darkovský Bridge and Lázně Darkov to Fryštát Castle in Karviná. For spatial orientation, you can follow the described route and its proper names individually.

The Lazy hill [Orlová-Lazy] lies in the immediate vicinity of Horní Suchá. In the wider regional surroundings of Horní Suchá lie Góra Chełm, Ropička and Górka Wislicka.

The terms “immediate vicinity” and “wider regional surroundings” mark different levels. You can arrange the landscape destinations according to the respective spatial framework mentioned.

When choosing a holiday apartment in Horní Suchá, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can serve as independent comparison points in your trip planning. The topics of culture, sport and landscape each place a different emphasis. This allows the practical accommodation criteria to be considered separately from the thematic focuses of your stay.
