Frýdecký Castle is the oldest surviving monument in Frýdek. The Beskydy Museum Frýdek-Místek is located in Frýdecký Castle.

Culture and history

The Lords of Vrbno from Bruntál completed the conversion of Frýdecký Castle from a Gothic castle into a Renaissance château. Frýdecká Basilica is the only church in its diocese with the papal title Basilica minor and has attracted pilgrims since the 17th century. The “Frýdek and Místek” exhibition presents Frýdek-Místek as two cities and, at the same time, one city.

The “Beskydy – Nature and People” exhibition explores the connection between nature and human activity.

Nature and activities

The “Bludné balvany” educational trail is a reminder of the Ice Age and leads through Frýdecký Forest. The Místecký Circuit is a signposted, 9.7-kilometre-long and easy-to-manage cycling route that starts and ends at the Olešná Reservoir in Frýdek-Místek. Skate rental for the IN-LINE trail is located next to the Olešná car camp.

Taste and production

MARLENKA’s visitor tour provides an insight into the production of Marlenka honey products and includes a tasting of a selection from the range, including MARLENKA® café. The MARLENKA excursion lasts approximately 70 minutes.
