Fryčovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Fryčovice lies on both banks of the Ondřejnice River. Between a cultural monument, a game enclosure and signposted trails, the town combines historical sites with various opportunities for exercise and relaxation.

Culture

The stone Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built between 1335 and 1345. It is the oldest stone church building in the Frýdek-Místek District and a protected cultural monument.

A traditional Easter market in Fryčovice was held on Thursday, 6 April, from 4 p.m. at Náves in the town centre. The programme included cimbalom music, children's workshops, Easter whip weaving, an Easter bunny with a basket full of sweets for children, the sale of Easter decorations and refreshments provided by local organisations.

Nature and Trails

At 354 m, Sovinec is the highest point in Fryčovice and currently serves as a game enclosure where a herd of white-tailed deer is kept. The Obora Sovinec educational trail is intended for recreational walks. It leads from the centre of Fryčovice westwards to the Sovinec game enclosure and onwards to the neighbouring villages of Kateřinice and Trnávka.

Cycle route No. 6006 runs through the town centre on existing roads from south to north. The signposted cycle route No. 6006 also forms the Olešná–Hukvaldy–Brušperk–Olešná circuit and runs through Fryčovice.

Relaxation

The FRY Relax Centrum has a relaxation pool with two counter-current systems, a water jet and a whirlpool feature. The facilities also include a squash court with a glass back wall and spectator area. The badminton court is open to the general public; after using the sauna, visitors can cool off in an outdoor pool.
