Arrival and Marked Trails

Lučany nad Nisou can be reached via Road I/14 from the direction of Jablonec nad Nisou, as well as by municipal public transport, scheduled buses or train.

From the Bramberk Lookout Tower, a red-marked and then a green-marked hiking trail leads to the Slovanka Lookout Tower.

The Stezka svobody is a 12.7-kilometre circular trail connecting the Lípy svobody planted in Lučany nad Nisou in 2018, Horni Maxov and Jindřichov. Its twelve stations are designed with glass cubes, metal bands and quotations on the subject of freedom.

Views and Cultural Monuments

From the Bramberk Lookout Tower, there are views across the Jizera Mountains, the Krkonoše Massif, Sněžka, Jablonec nad Nisou and the Ještěd Ridge.

The Bramberk Lookout Tower was declared a cultural monument in July 2015. The Slovanka Lookout Tower is the oldest iron lookout tower in Bohemia. Since 7 July 1999, it has been listed in the register of the National Heritage Institute; following its reconstruction, it was ceremonially reopened to the public on 5 July 2000.

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Lučany nad Nisou is a Neo-Renaissance building dating from 1886–1887 and was consecrated in 1889. It has the ground plan of a Greek cross, furnishings from the 19th century and an interior that is continuously being restored.

Automotive and Motorcycle History

The Automoto Museum Lučany presents the development of the automobile over a century through numerous models and brands, including original racing cars. The motorcycle exhibition ranges from models from the early 20th century through the heyday of European manufacturers to the subsequent development of Japanese manufacturers; it includes thoroughbred racing machines.

The Automoto Museum Lučany also displays authentic racing machines, Josef Macháček’s multiple-winning quad bike, David Pabiška’s first Dakar motorcycle and original artefacts from this long-distance rally.
