Horni Maxov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Stezka svobody connects three lime trees of freedom planted in 2018 in Lučany nad Nisou, Horní Maxov, and Jindřichov. The 12.7 km circular route is marked with circular trail signs in the colors of the tricolor.
Trails and Stations
The Stezka svobody has twelve stations designed with glass cubes and metal bands bearing quotations on the subject of freedom. The route “Od Hrabětic do města Jablonce” also leads over the Maxovský hřbet and through Horní Maxov on the way to Jablonec nad Nisou.
The Maxovská křížová cesta begins in Horní Maxov near the former chapel. The marked 0.5 km trail ends at the Seibt spring below the Slovanka lookout tower. Three information panels with historical photographs provide information about the history of Horní Maxov and the creation of the Stations of the Cross.
History and Culture
The Maxov cemetery was ceremonially opened on All Souls’ Day in 1890 and was regularly used until the end of the 1940s. It is located on a sunny southern slope above the center of Horní Maxov and offers views over a shallow depression with meadows, small groves, and scattered houses.
The Church of the “Most Sacred Heart of the Lord” in Horní Maxov was built in 1910.
