Radeč: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Radeč is situated in a hilly landscape. Most of the built-up area is located in a valley approximately 1.5 kilometres long that slopes down towards the Ploučnice River. The restored extensive orchard is an important landscape structure and a remnant of Radeč’s historic cultural landscape. Radeč lies in an area managed by the CHKO České Středohoří Protected Landscape Area.

Culture and History

The cemetery in Radeč contains German graves with carved floral details. Radeč is also home to the protected statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The Chapel of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist does not hold regular services.

In the wider region surrounding Radeč are Starý Berštejn, a ruin, Hirniskretzschen, a historic site, Hrad Střekov, a castle, and Postelwitzer Höhe, a viewpoint.

Traditions and Events

The tradition of the Třešňová pouť is connected with the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, when there were large cherry orchards around Radeč. It was revived after 1989; visitors gather during the cherry-ripening weekend for an extensive cultural programme. The Radečské slavnosti festival is held regularly every year in June.
