Neu Rohlau: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Neu Rohlau (Nová Role) reveals itself from several perspectives through its church architecture, porcelain production and Novorolský rybník. Between medieval architectural history, artisanal production and paths leading into the surrounding landscape, the town offers a diverse character.

Culture and Craftsmanship

The original chapel of the Kostel sv. Michaela v Nové Roli church was built between 1240 and 1255. A remnant of the original masonry has been preserved in the rear part of the presbytery. The church is a valuable ecclesiastical monument in the Karlovy Vary region and was classified in the II category of historic monuments in the Romanesque-Gothic style.

Porcelain and Tradition

The visitor tour at the Thun Visitor Centre in Nová Role leads through the administration building and showroom and on to the production facility. The tour includes a film presentation about porcelain production. At the Porcelain School, visitors can decorate their own cup by hand. The traditional Michalská pouť takes place on the shore of Novorolský rybník in Nová Role.

Water and Paths

With an area of 22 ha, Novorolský rybník is the largest pond in the local non-trout fishing area. Hiking and cycling trails run through Nová Role and continue as far as Saxony in Germany.
