Luditz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Luditz, medieval urban history, distinctive cultural experiences and landscapes with marked hiking trails come together. The Katova Cesta circular trail is five kilometres long and includes six stations. At each station, audio stories in Czech or German about the executioner Johann Christoph Fischer can be accessed via QR code.

Culture and History

Žlutice is an important medieval town with a rectangular layout and a large Gothic church. The historic centre preserves remains of Gothic fortifications. The Church of St Peter and Paul is one of the most valuable historic monuments in the Karlovy Vary Region. South of the town of Žlutice, above the Střela River, the late Gothic Nevděk Castle stands on Zámecký vrch.

The events calendar also forms part of Žlutice’s cultural identity: the Žlutická pouť pilgrimage, the Žlutické divadelní léto amateur theatre festival and the VIVA LA MUSICA choir festival take place every year. The Žlutický kancionál is a national cultural monument and is preserved at the Memorial of National Literature. A complete facsimile of its pages is available for viewing by all visitors at the Žlutice Museum.

Museum and Underground Rooms

The Žlutice Museum is open from May to September and closed from 1 October to 30 April. The tour also includes underground rooms with a lapidarium.

Nature and Trails

In the vicinity of Žlutice, the Vladař Nature Reserve encompasses the summit and its slopes. It has existed since 1970, covers more than 227 hectares and protects oak-hornbeam forests, ravine and scree forests, as well as dry grasslands. In the vicinity of Žlutice, Vladař can be reached via a 5 km red-marked hiking trail or an 8.3 km yellow-marked hiking trail.
