Gießhübl-Sauerbrunn: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Gießhübl-Sauerbrunn combines Mattoni history with paths and viewpoints. The 3.6-kilometre Mattoni Trail can for the most part also be walked with small children and pushchairs; however, the section between the viewpoints features more challenging terrain.

Paths and Viewpoints

The Lázeňské korzo with the Mattoni Waterfall is a named stop on the Mattoni Trail. The Bučina Lookout Tower is freely accessible and can be reached from the centre of Kyselka via a challenging walk of approximately 1.5 kilometres with a significant difference in elevation. The tower is 13 metres high; its viewing platform is located at a height of 10 metres and can be reached via 62 steps.

The Chapel of St. Anne was built in 1884 on the highest rocky spur, high above a bend in the Ohře River. The chapel offers a view over the whole of Kyselka.

Mattoni and Historic Buildings

The Mattoni Museum is located in the bottling plant of the Löschner Spring in Kyselka and is open to visitors. It features interactive exhibits, animated projections and original advertisements. The Mattoni factory complex was built in the historicist style in the second half of the 19th century.

The Mattoni Villa was extensively rebuilt in 1885–1886 and features forms of classical Italian Neo-Renaissance. The new colonnade and the pavilion of Ottův Pramen were built in 1897–1898 in place of a wooden colonnade, based on a design by the Viennese architect Karl Haybäck. The interior of the pavilion of Ottův Pramen is decorated with Neo-Baroque ornamentation and marble scagliola.

Water and Local History

The water of Ottův Pramen flowed through several overflows into a stone basin and formed a waterfall leading to a pond near the Lázeňská restaurace.
