The Hornohradský potok natural monument also extends across the cadastral area of Krásný Les. The Hornohradský potok area comprises a mosaic of Natura 2000 habitats, including ash-alder floodplain forests, moist meadows with meadowsweet, moist cabbage thistle meadows, and margins along mountain streams. It is home to the largest wild garlic population in the Karlovy Vary Region; there are also stands of ostrich fern, and the stream serves as a breeding habitat for the fire salamander.

The Nebesa and Pekelská skalá mountains are located in the vicinity of Krásný Les. The Popovský kříž and Velká Jehličná mountains are also located around Krásný Les.

Culture

Cultural events and guided tours are offered at Hauenštejn. The Schlackenwerth Monastery is located near Krásný Les. In the wider regional surroundings of Krásný Les are the Church of the Redeemer in Bärenstein, the former Franciscan monastery in Annaberg-Buchholz, and the Church of the Ascension in Cranzahl.

History

The Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul in Krásný Les is an early Baroque church built around the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. A new bell tower was added to the church in 1794–1795. It has been partially restored and is accessible only occasionally.

The chapel in Krásný Les has a triangular gable with a niche containing a Madonna. It stands on a road at the northwestern edge of the village.

Along the educational trail around Horní hrad, information boards provide information about sights in the vicinity of the castle, the history of the region, and the remarkable landscape with a romantic park. The educational trail is suitable for school groups and families with children.
