Two cycling routes, each 11 km long, run through Jenišov: Route 2227 K.Vary–Jenišov–Chodov via Jetelová and Pod Rybníkem, and Route 2228 Stará Role–Jenišov–Loket via Pod Rybníkem and Jetelová.

Cycling

Cycling route 2227 uses paved paths with asphalt and gravel surfaces. Cycling route 2228 runs mostly away from motorised traffic; only the section between Loučky and Loket has heavier traffic.

Culture and history

The viaduct near Jenišov is the largest structure in the cadastral area of the municipality of Jenišov. Since the construction of the Buštěhrad Railway in 1870, it has served to this day without any major repairs. Its stone arch crosses the Chodovský potok directly next to the millrace of a former mill.

The Neoclassical Chapel of St Anne in Jenišov was built in 1849 based on a design by the bricklayer Franz Gelinka, on the site of an earlier wooden bell tower. It stands on the village square in the centre of Jenišov; its exterior areas are accessible. The chapel was completely reconstructed between 1991 and 1993.

Landscape

The reclaimed Velká loketská výsypka is an external spoil heap from the Družba lignite open-cast mine and stretches between Nové Sedlo, Mírová, Jenišov and Hory. Fourteen kilometres of cycling paths are marked and seven rest areas have been established on the Velká loketská výsypka.
