The Church of St. John the Baptist gives Rohenice a special historical significance: it dates back to the 14th century. The church also contains a rare late Gothic winged altarpiece from 1533.

Culture and History

Outside the church grounds stands the wooden bell tower on the open square in front of the western main façade of the Church of St. John the Baptist. It was built before 1652. Rohenice is also home to a preserved single-storey rural timber house built using log construction, featuring a distinctive gable design. The village also has a statue of St. John of Nepomuk dating from 1821 and a stone cross from 1876.

Landscape and Nature

The landscape around Rohenice is characterised by two hills and a valley between them. The Žďár Forest lies on the edge of the Rohenice cadastral area. Other features of the local landscape include the municipal pond, which is designated as a biocentre, and a fire-water reservoir designated as a swimming area.

The ceremonial opening of the Rohenice–České Meziříčí cycle path was announced for 30 April 2026.
