The present-day Baroque village church of St. Apollinar in Chleny was built in 1755 on the site of an older masonry church. The protected church complex comprises the church, a mortuary, an enclosing wall and the cemetery grounds. St. Apollinar is considered a landmark of the village and the surrounding landscape.

Events

The Chlenfest 2026 will take place at the sports ground of TJ Sokol Chleny, Chleny 71. The Sokolský běh republiky is an annual celebration of the founding of Czechoslovakia and is organised by Česká obec sokolská. The Memoriál Bohumila Bečičky took place in Chleny for the 27th time on 9 August 2025.

Landscape

Strýc is located in the vicinity of Chleny and is considered a mountain. Na Lhotkách [Svídnice u Kostelce nad Orlicí] and Domovina [Lhoty u Potštejna] are located in the immediate vicinity of Chleny; both are considered hills. Velká Suchá is located in the wider regional surroundings of Chleny and is considered a mountain. The lime trees planted next to the church in 1879 remain defining features of Chleny to this day.

Cycle Routes

From the churchyard of St. Apollinar Church in Chleny, a route follows Cycle Route 4320 and Brodec to Krchleby and continues to Číčová; it then crosses the river and passes Velký Karlov Pond. Another cycle route follows Cycle Route 4319 and Brodec to Chleny.
