Culture and History
The Gothic Church of All Saints (Všech Svatých) is listed as a cultural monument and is first mentioned in 1260. In the northern part of Zdětín, on the road to Chotětov, there is an archaeological site dating from the Bronze Age.
On its return route to Benátky nad Jizerou, the “In the Landscape of Rudolf II” educational trail passes through Zdětín. Along the way, it presents Rudolf II through his interest in gardens, forests and hunting. The Church of St. Adalbert is located in the wider regional surroundings of Zdětín.
Location and Connections
Zdětín is situated on a gentle elevation at the edge of the Central Bohemian Plain. The village has bus connections to Benátky nad Jizerou and Mladá Boleslav. Zdětín u Chotětova railway station, located 1.5 km from Zdětín, lies on the Prague–Turnov railway line.
Cycle Paths
The “Benátky–Zdětín” inline skating and cycling route uses the former railway track of a disused branch line serving the Carborundum–Electrite plant. It is not physically demanding, has only gentle inclines and is also suitable for families with children.
The cycling tour “In the Footsteps of the History of Southern Mladá Boleslav Region” begins at Zdětín u Chotětova railway station.
