Vraňany is located on the left bank of the Vltava. A frequently used red-marked hiking trail runs through the village. Cycle Route 8242 leads from the Mlčechvosty stop to Vraňany and continues along the side canal.

Routes

In Lužec nad Vltavou, Cycle Route 8242 connects to EuroVelo 7. The Říp–Blaník pilgrimage route consists of four stages and is almost 300 kilometres long.

History and Culture

The Vraňany–Hořín water-management structure was built from 1902 to 1905. The Vraňany small hydropower plant was completed in June 2006. The Vraňany flood-control closure facility is located in Vraňany.

The Vraňany–Hořín navigation canal is crossed by seven bridges and is designated as a cultural monument.

The movable Vraňany road bridge has a clearance height of 5.25 metres when lowered and 7.0 metres when raised.
