Vodranty: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the weir on the Klejnárka, water plunges six metres down between steep rock walls. Locals often visit the weir for walks with children or dogs.

Water and Landscape

The Klejnárka stream flows through the Vodranty area. Nový rybník lies southwest of the village on the boundary between the cadastral areas of Vodranty and Souňov. During the summer months, locals and residents of neighbouring municipalities used Nový rybník for swimming.

However, the municipality points to a deterioration in the water quality of Nový rybník. This is attributed in particular to a lower inflow of water, as well as to rotting deposits of leaves and branches from the surrounding mature trees.

Culture and History

The Křížek stands at a wayside cross about 200 m beyond Vodranty in the direction of Močovice, in the shade of two mature lime trees. It dates from 1880 and was donated by Marie Vařečková from Vodranty. In spring 2018, the Křížek was restored; the monument was cleaned and the statue of Jesus Christ was regilded with gold leaf.

The Kaplička probably dates from the second half of the 19th century. A footpath was built to the Kaplička from the road to the entrance doors of the belfry.

The Československá lípa svobody was planted in Vodranty in May 1920. On 28 October 1946, it was planted again in the same place.
