Rohozec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Rohozec is located in the Elbe Lowland between the historic towns of Kutná Hora and Čáslav. An important testament to the history of the village is the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. It is a protected cultural monument and has been protected as a historic landmark since 3 May 1958.
Culture and History
The Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Rohozec is a single-nave, oriented building with a square presbytery covered by a ribbed cross vault. Its original chapel dates from the last quarter of the 13th century or from around the transition between the 13th and 14th centuries. As a filial church, St. Mary Magdalene belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Chotusice.
House No. 25 is also one of the oldest residential buildings in Rohozec and dates from around the middle of the 19th century. Part of the log structure is concealed beneath a thick layer of limewash. The widening chimney indicates that a smokehouse was once set up there. Rohozec is also located near the Empire-style Kačina Chateau.
