Všestudy features a flat, agriculturally shaped landscape with tree-lined avenues, natural border areas and distinctive traces of local history. In the vicinity of Všestudy, Veltrusy Chateau Park is freely accessible from sunrise to sunset.
Landscape and nature
The municipality of Všestudy is characterised by a flat landscape used for agriculture. The roads are usually lined with avenues of trees of different ages and species. In some places, the municipal boundary is formed by the Mlýnský potok stream and the floodplain forest of Veltrusy Park.
The cadastral district of Všestudy u Veltrus is part of the 297.4-hectare Veltrusy Site of Community Importance. The protected species listed there include the hermit beetle (Osmoderma eremita) and the stag beetle (Lucanus cervus).
Buildings and local history
At the northeastern edge of Veltrusy Chateau Park, in the cadastral district of Všestudy, lies Červený mlýn, a Neo-Gothic mill dating from 1792. Červený mlýn is cited as the exception among the historically significant buildings in the municipality of Všestudy that have been included in the list of protected monuments.
After being restored and having its mill equipment removed, Červený mlýn served as a guesthouse and excursion restaurant; during the Second World War, it was the headquarters of the Hitler Youth, and after 1948 it was converted into a retirement home. The former hop-drying facility in Všestudy is also a significant building.
The bell tower in Všestudy has existed since 1948. Its new bell was returned and consecrated in 2007. Architecturally, it is a brick rotunda on a circular base.
Cycling tradition
The revived, humorous cycling competition Žabincový prolog reached its sixth edition in modern history in Všestudy in 2015. The 2014 Žabincový prolog included a five-kilometre course for adults, as well as 500-metre courses for children and 50-metre courses for the youngest participants.
