The chateau in Tupadly is a protected immovable cultural monument. It is not accessible to visitors.
Culture
The original fortress of Tupadly was converted into an early Baroque chateau between 1636 and 1640. Tupadly was first mentioned in 1242; the fortress there is explicitly documented in 1371.
Tupadly is registered as an archaeological area with documented or reasonably expected archaeological finds from the Neolithic, the Lusatian culture, the Middle Ages, and the modern era.
The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Tupadly dates from the 19th century and was restored at the beginning of the 21st century. It stands in the centre of Tupadly on a small village square opposite the Baroque gate located by the chateau. The Baroque gate and a pavilion are among Tupadly’s sights. The chapel is freely accessible.
Gastronomy
Pivovar Tupadly traces its first mentions back to 1735. The brewery offers tours with expert commentary through the production area, followed by a beer tasting; advance reservation is required.
The regular selection includes the pale lager “Tupadelská 10°” for CZK 105 per 1.5 l, the pale lager “Tupadelská 11°” for CZK 110 per 1.5 l, the dark lager “Tupadelská 12°” for CZK 120 per 1.5 l, and the strong beer “Tupadelská 13°” for CZK 120 per 1.5 l.
Cycling
The CKH11 cycle route runs through Tupadly. It is 66.3 km long, with a possible deviation of ±5%, and is suitable for children.
