The Ostašov archaeological area in Staňkovice is classified as a significant archaeological site in category UAN I.

Culture and History

A medieval settlement stood on the Ostašov site and was described as abandoned in 1524. A glassworks was founded on the site of the former settlement in 1715 and was probably shut down in 1726.

There is a bell tower in the village square of Staňkovice. Nová Ves is home to a large Neo-Gothic chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. In Chlum, a statue of Saint Donatus dating from 1765 commemorates the local history. The village square in Chlum also features a recently restored war memorial to those who fell in the First World War and a chapel.

Events

An annual exhibition of birds, poultry and rabbits, featuring an extensive programme for children, takes place in Staňkovice. The 2025 edition of the district small-animal sales exhibition in Staňkovice was held on the grounds of the municipal office next to the bus stop. The exhibition held in Staňkovice in 2025 presented rabbits, pigeons, poultry, exotic birds and a beehive.
