Hostovlice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hostovlice is located in the Čáslav Uplands at an elevation of 281 metres. The first documented mention of the village dates back to 1244; the estate in Hostovlice remained in the possession of the Auersperg family until 1945.

Village Character and Stories

A square bell tower stands on the village green in Hostovlice. There is a local legend about it entitled “O Hostovlické zvoničce”. Remains of the so-called “Hladová” Wall have also survived in Hostovlice to this day.

Water and Cycle Paths

Panský rybník is a 0.36-hectare fishing water in the cadastral area of Hostovlice. As of 1 August 2026, Panský rybník was opened to anglers as a new shared fishing water.

Cycle Route 0117 runs from Čáslav via Tupadly, Schořov and Bratčice to Hostovlice. In Hostovlice, it connects to Route 1 towards Ronov nad Doubravou and Třemošnice.

Festivals and Local Life

The Hostovlice Volunteer Fire Brigade Association organises the annual raising of the maypole. The Hostovlice sports club organises a traditional masked procession. In Hostovlice, the Czech Breeders’ Association holds a winter exhibition of rabbits and pigeons. On 18 and 19 February 2023, the exhibition had already reached its 32nd edition.

A milk vending machine supplied by a local farmer stands at the former site of the agricultural cooperative in Hostovlice.

In the surrounding area, Žleby Chateau offers an insight into the everyday life of the nobility in the 19th century. Also nearby, Žleby Game Park offers special guided tours that provide families with unique experiences.

Mobility

Buses connect Hostovlice with the surrounding municipalities and the town of Čáslav; nevertheless, private transport is required.
