Prčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Prčice lies in the basin known as “Český Merán.” Its historic centre developed around a manor founded by the Vítkovci in the 11th century.

History and Townscape

The Church of Saint Lawrence in Prčice is originally Romanesque and was founded in the 11th or 12th century. The Plague Chapel was built after the plague epidemic of 1680 at a burial site for plague victims. The town plan also reflects the past: at that time, an early feudal trade route between Prague and southern Bohemia ran through Prčice, and its course can be recognised in the town plan.

The history of the connections includes the Karla Burky Bridge, which was completed in 1822 as a direct connection between Sedlec and Prčice. The bridge is 200 metres long, designed in the Empire style, and has three arched openings.

Landscape and Trails

The “Od vítkovské růže k zázračnému prameni” educational trail features eleven information boards with play elements and connects to existing hiking trails as well as mostly old hollow ways. A designated 17-kilometre hiking route begins in Prčice and leads via ski areas and their viewpoints to Sedlec.

Traditions and Events

The traditional Prčické posvícení will take place from 7 to 9 August 2026. The “Pochod Praha–Prčice” march was first held on 17 April 1966 with the participation of Stanislav Rataj, who came from Prčice.
