Polní Chrčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Kozí hůra natural monument, which extends across the cadastral areas of Polní Chrčice, Choťovice and Žehuň, protects mosaics of broad-leaved dry grasslands, oak-hornbeam forests and old acidic oak forests.

Nature

The Kozí hůra hill [Žehuň] is located in the vicinity of Polní Chrčice. The surrounding area also includes Hořánck Hill, Kamenec Hill and U Borku Hill [Záhornice u Městce Králové]. Kostelík Hill near Polní Chrčice offers beautiful views across the landscape.

The Pod Strání lookout tower is an eight-metre-high steel-and-wood tower with 25 steps. From the tower, the view extends mainly to the south and west. A blue-marked long-distance hiking trail from Kolín towards Žehuň and Městec Králové passes through Polní Chrčice.

Culture and History

The first confirmed written mention of Polní Chrčice dates from 1361. The painter and artist Alva Hajn was born in Polní Chrčice. The Zasvěcení Panny Marie Chapel in Polní Chrčice is a small Neo-Baroque chapel dating from 1899.

Events

The Polnochrčická Neckiáda takes place on the last Saturday in July each year. Events in Polní Chrčice include fishing competitions in September, which are associated with the local fair.
