Culture and History

The Celtic coin hoard from Starý Kolín is part of the town’s history; it comprised 197 staters and 107 third-staters. An information board about this hoard is located at a bicycle rest area by the road bridge over the Klejnárka. The former Baštecký Mill with its hydroelectric power station is one of the cultural sites connected with the history of Starý Kolín. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity is listed as an immovable cultural monument.

Nature

Wild garlic is widespread in the Baštecký Forest by the Elbe. The “V Souškách” educational trail runs through the Baštecký Forest and its surroundings; it opened on 5 September 2021. It comprises five information boards, its own tourist signage, and a branch leading to an old oak avenue near the Elbe.
