Culture and Local History

A special archaeological find bears the name of the town: the Krychnov Find of 1930 was discovered by J. Pýcha while ploughing the Na klínku field.

Several notable landmarks are located directly in Krychnov. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands in the centre of Krychnov at a road intersection. The gate of Farm No. 25 in Krychnov is a protected immovable cultural monument in the Czech Republic. The monument to those who fell in the First World War in Krychnov is a sandstone monument dating from 1918.

The Krychnovský poklad also preserves remarkable individual items: it comprised a gilded silver tankard and a gilded silver cup. The Krychnovský poklad also includes 109 surviving coins from Bohemia and other countries of Western Europe dating from 1575 to 1625.

History

From 16 to 21 June 1757, Marshal Daun established his headquarters in Krychnov before the Battle of Kolín.
