Němčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the center of Němčice stands a statue of the Virgin Mary, erected in 1890. It provides a tangible introduction to a village landscape where monuments, a bell tower, and historic buildings come together.

Culture and History

The monument to those who fell in the First World War was unveiled on September 18, 1921, and created by the sculptor Václav Drobník from Kolín. The wooden bell tower also reflects changes in the village: until 1919, it stood on the site of today’s bus shelter before being moved in 1921 to its present location in the village center.

On the road toward Býchory stands a wooden cross with a depiction of the Crucifixion dating from 1898; the cross was recently restored. A memorial house in Němčice dates from 1612. In 1445, a farmstead or fortress owned by Jan z Němčic stood there.

Nature and Trails

The forests around Němčice are visited every year by mushroom pickers from the wider surrounding area. A marked hiking trail also runs through the area around Němčice.

Village Life

The Němčická pouť is a recurring public event featuring fairground attractions, a football tournament, and dance events. Fishing cards and fishing permits are sold on weekdays at the Němčice municipal office. Němčice also has good bus connections with nearby Býchory.
