Tuchoraz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The preserved remains of Tuchoraz Castle are considered an exceptionally valuable monument of Czech Gothic architecture. Its entrance tower bears a commemorative plaque with the year 1477.

Culture

The entrance tower and cellar of Tuchoraz Castle are accessible by prior arrangement with the owners of the monument. A folk-style bell column dating from 1845 stands in the village square. Tuchoraz is also home to the niche chapel of the Virgin Mary, which dates from 1903.

On the road from Tuchoraz to Zahrady stands the wayside chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, a column shrine dating from 2003. The farm building of the Tuchoraz estate is a unique Late Gothic structure with a series of carefully carved surrounds on its portals and small windows. The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was consecrated on 23 August of the same year.

Cycling

The Šemberské stezky trails are located immediately behind Tuchoraz in the municipal forests near Český Brod. Their base in Tuchoraz includes a bicycle rental service. There are currently three downhill routes of varying difficulty and one uphill route, with a total length of 4–5 km.

The Šemberské stezky can be reached by bicycle or train, and these options are preferred.

Food

The Sady Tuchoraz farm shop is located in the village square of Tuchoraz, directly next to the inn. Depending on the seasonal selection, it offers apples, apple cider, honey, and seasonal fruit and vegetables.

The Středočeská ovocná stezka runs along well-kept orchards and through places where, especially in autumn, you can sample fruit, cider, or dried fruit from local growers.
