Poštovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Poštovice stretches through a valley along both banks of the Vranský potok stream. Between the watercourse, gently rolling landscape and traces of history, the village reveals its distinctive character in several places.

Culture and history

The chapel in Poštovice was built in 1849 and completely reconstructed in 2003. Its bell tower has a sundial. The village is also home to the Baroque statue of Saint Donatus on a prismatic pedestal with a strongly moulded cornice; the year 1724 is inscribed on the pedestal.

The memorial to the fallen stands in Poštovice village square. It is a significant structure documenting the historical development of the area. In the southern part of Poštovice, there is also Farmhouse No. 7, an important historic building that likewise documents the historical development of the area.

During road construction between Poštovice and Zlonice, a burial dating from the Roman Imperial period was discovered in 1900. At a place south of Poštovice in the direction of Tmáň known as “Na kazatelně”, locals used to meet former Protestant ministers who preached there. A guild sign of the butchers is displayed on the historic building of the former well-known U Čtrnáctých inn.

Landscape and nature

The protected tree known as the “Poštovický summer oak” stands in Poštovice. The village is also home to the “Švehlova linden”.

The gently rolling landscape around Poštovice is ideal for cycling, walks and hikes. Numerous roads and paths between pastures and fields lead from Poštovice to Šlapanický Pond.
