Tuřany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Tuřany combines ecclesiastical heritage with its location on the edge of Džbán Nature Park. The village is home to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which has been documented in writing since 1352. The Gothic building dates from the 14th century and was altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. The bell tower is located next to the church.

Culture and Local History

The village also features a memorial to the fallen, which is designated as a historically significant structure. The milestone in Tuřany is an immovable cultural monument. In Byseň, the chapel on the village square is considered an architecturally valuable structure.

Named heritage sites can also be found in the nearby area: the chapel near Studeněves, in the fields towards Tuřany, was repaired in 2013. A statue of the Virgin Mary was placed inside it; the chapel and the statue were subsequently reconsecrated.

Nature at Džbán

Tuřany lies on the edge of Džbán Nature Park. The nature park serves to preserve the unique landscape of the Džbán Cretaceous Tableland, with its terrain formations, forests, characteristic flora and fauna, and vegetation outside the forest.

Nature Trail and Route

The “Naučná stezka Tuřany a okolí” nature trail leads from Tuřany through Byseň to Libovice. It provides information about the history of the municipalities, their cultural and natural attractions, and local legends. A route through Tuřany, Byseň, Libovice, U Jána, Neprobylice, Kutrovice, Kvílice and Třebíz is just over 11 kilometres long. The “Naučná stezka Tuřany a okolí” nature trail ends on the steps leading to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Tuřany.
